Inside Pollux.
How it works, what it includes, and where it fits in your process.
Who It’s For
Freelance journalists tracking sources, fact-checks, and pitches across multiple active stories at once — and just as much documentary creators, true-crime writers, historians, biographers, and investigative nonfiction authors doing the same kind of source-heavy work outside a traditional newsroom.
The Problem It Solves
Freelancers commonly juggle several stories at once, each with its own sources, attribution status, and pitch history — easy to lose track of across scattered notes and email threads. Pollux keeps a story’s angle, sources, fact-checks, and pitches organized together, visible beside your draft as you write.
How It Works
Accepted Files
None — Pollux never involves uploading a document. Everything is typed directly into the worksheets.
What You Receive
Active-story capacity on your account — 10 stories at once. Finishing a story frees its slot for a new one, and stays fully accessible to you at no additional cost.
What It Does Not Do
Pollux does not verify facts, does not enforce attribution agreements, and provides no legal protection for source confidentiality — attribution and fact-check statuses are your own organizational notes, not a verification service. It never writes any part of your story for you. Pollux makes no security or privacy claims beyond the standard Lodestar Privacy Policy — no encryption or access-log language beyond standard practice.
Privacy and Deletion
Your worksheet content and account information are retained for as long as your account is active, including stories you’ve marked finished. See the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the full detail.
